Top 5 Per Position
Player Class Pos. School

Drafted By

QUARTERBACKS
1. Michael VickJr.QBVT
John Elway with a better tan.
2. Kurt KittnerSr.QBILL
Great pocket passer whose arm overcomes his short statue.  No speed.  Needs a good line to protect him
3. Dave RagoneSr.QBLOU
Great Arm with accuracy.  Has really improved his accuracy this year and has some escapeability when he chooses to use it.  Not a runner on the pro level.
4. David CarrSr.QBFRES
Draws comparisons to Elway as a play maker.  So did Jake Plummer five years ago.  Projected as a Franchise QB with some time.
5. Quincy CarterJr.QBUGA
Dallas couldn't be wrong, could they?!?
HALFBACKS
1. William GreenSr.HBBC
Was suppose to replace mike Cloud.  Instead, he head the nation in rushing and is shooting up the charts faster than his 4.3/40 time.  Has been in trouble.  May lack the discipline and strength, but sure has the speed!
2. Johnathan AdamsSr.HBArk St.
Former Parade All American never had support at ASU but still managed to run for over 3,000 yards.  Lacks breakaway speed, but is a fine backup on any team.
3. Joe GunnSr.HBMiss
Joe Gunn showed that he could fill the shoes of Deuce McAllister adequately.  He is a midlevel pick in an otherwise very weak HB pool.
4. Reggie WhiteSr.HBULM
Quick and agile.  Lacks speed .  Utility RB role player in a passing offense?
5.  Anyone
FULLBACKS
1. William McCraySr.FBFSU
He's a FB that can do it all.  May work as a power-back/HB on the right team.
2. Ross MitchellSr.FB?
Another small college guy called a "sleeper".
3. Jam'ar ToombsSr.FBTxAM
Great name for a FB.  Poor discipline attributed to his reputation for getting into trouble.
4. Charles StackhouseSr.FBMISS
Former Parade All-American.  Played LB as a freshman and has turned into a real good FB.  Still growing?
5.  Sancha LancasterSr.FB
A converted DE who started 2 years on defense.  Very strong and a psycho blocker.  Does not possess good hands.  DO NOT GIVE HIM THE BALL!
WIDE RECEIVERS
1. Javon WalkerSr.WRFSU
Fastest player in the draft, but drops too many passes.  Will need to improve his mental side of the game on the next level.
2. Ron JohnsonSr.WRMinn
The Ani-Jevon Walker.  Speed is barely adequate, but gas hands of glue, excellent routes, and deceiving separation and cuts.  A possession receiver ala McCaffery or a really tall Crebet.
3. Freddie MitchellJr.WRUCLA
Nobody is a bigger fan of Freddie Mitchell than Freddie Mitchell.  A complete package of speed and intangibles.  Can he stay healthy?
4. Kelly CampbellSR.WRGT
Freddie Mitchell minus a little speed.  Will still develop nicely and could emerge in the first round.
5. Koren RobinsonSRWRNCSt.
Loaded with talent, but needs time to develop adequately.  Could be a first rounder in a very talented WR pool.
TIGHT ENDS
1. Daniel GrahamSRTECOL
Mark Chumura with better hands for the ball and less attention for the babysitters.  Really developed this fall.  Top 10 pick.
2. Robert RoyalSRTELSU
Was the #1 TE in the nation preseason and is definitely worthy of a #1 pick to a team that needs a TE.
3. Nick WarrenSR.TEKSU
Need a run blocking TE?  Don't wanna pick a TE in round 1?  This is your man!
4. Chris BakerSRTEMSU
Still raw, but will develop into a good all-around TE.  Needs a team with two years to wait and he will really blossom.
5. Geoff FranksSRTE?
A little fat and inexperienced right now, but has talent to develop into Shannon Sharpe id you can wait 4 years.
OFFENSIVE TACKLES
1. Bryant McKinnieSROTMIA
6'8 and 330 pounds.  Boscelli with better knees and room to grow.  WOW!!!  Top-3 Pick!
2. Kendall SimmonsSROTAUB
Played Guard for Auburn, but could play Guard or Tackle in Pros.
3. Shannon MoneySROTARK
Never heard of him?  He is shooting up the charts with rare speed in addition to his other attributes.  May move to guard in Pros.
4. Terrance MetcalfSROTMISS
A mauler who can play any position except center.
5. Juaquin GonzalezSROTMIA
The NCAA should investigate Miami for having Gonzalez and McKinnie on the same team.  Gonzalez is definitely a second round pick worthy of a late #1 if the right team wants him.
OFFENSIVE GUARDS
1. Martin BiblaSROGMIA
#1 Guard worthy of a #1 pick.  Can play Tackle if needed.

BUFFALO OBTAINS #1 OVERALL PICK IN BLOCKBUSTER DEAL!

In what was expected to be another drunken and juvenile press conference of farting and giggling, Coach Mackey and Coach Harless announced a finalized deal  whereby the Bills have obtained the #1 Overall Pick in the Draft.

This deal sends the perpetually trade-rumored Mushin Muhammad (WR) to the Bill's with the #1 for Eric Moulds (WR) and the Bills #1 and #2 draft picks.

What does this mean?

The Titans have finally gotten that #1 receiver they needed.  Anthony Lucas moves to #2 and the Titans look to have upgraded to position considerably.  However, Moulds is an eight year vet.  Do the Titans have enough time to mature before Moulds begins to fade?  The Titan's still hold a #1 pick and can use it as insurance at the position if they wish.

The Bills will move Mohammed to the #1 receiving slot have the #1 overall pick and still hold two #2 picks.  They are not hurting in this deal.  The Bills need defensive help desperately and need help on the defensive line and at Safety.  I think Pig Praether (S) is the favorite with Justin Smith (DE) or Alex Brown (DE) as top alternatives.  With Clint Stoerner ineffective last year, Kittner, Ragone, Vick, and Carr could see themselves jump into the slot - hoping better offensive production equates into better defensive position.  With Harless, you just don't know!

Coach Harless (left) and Coach Mackey emerge from WCNFL Owners meeting to announce Trade and pending engagement.

Negotiations were described as "Prison-like" and "Hard as Stone."

Every week I ask for mail, but rarely do I get any.  Someone let me know you read this rag!

E-Mel Me!

OWINGS MILLS, Maryland (Tticker) Head Coach Lee Hines stood at the podium, a look of fatigue well and truly set in, and began to describe his off season plans. While some speculate that a season of re-tooling is needed after the Ravens finished under .500 in 2002, Coach Hines looked composed if not ready for bed. With the mid season shift of head coaches, it was almost predictable. A heavy loss to eventual champions Cleveland in the final week, set the new coaching staff to work for thie upcoming season. After taking the Jaguars to it's 2 central division championships on an explosive offense and tight D, Coach Hines looks to bring in players who fit the previous mold. "Some players will stay, some will go. We have a need at HB and CB. We want to upgrade the receiving corps. We have some nice young talent to build around and this draft is a big one after a nice draft last season." said Hines.

Pressure will be on to emulate a draft strategy that bought in two top notch offensive lineman in last years effort. With the number 12 pick in the first round, people in the Maryland area are going to be watching. Whilst nothing will be said too much, it is known that extra picks are wanted in the draft.

"We have to cut some salary and move some players who we dont think fit the team anymore. We will look at any deal presented to us. We want to build the team around of good young players who fit the system. Moving up in the draft is also a possibility."

Just who the Ravens choose on draft day is a mystery. With HB Ray Zellars holding out, and the slight possible thought of moving team leaders like Ray Lewis and Mike McCrary, this draft day will be a look into a major part in the Ravens history.

Who Will Bills Choose #1?

Quite honestly, I was drunk when Mackey called up and asked about this trade. I think he was high at the time...so I jumped on it.

I really haven't decided where the pick is going at this time. Both our QBs are aging...and the youngster just doesn't have what it takes to win in the 4th quarter. Our defensive line and secondary are pretty shitty and deserve attention too. I think the places I can say the pick isn't going is RB, LB, TE, WR, OL. With that said it narrows it down a little, but we have a tough decision to make.

I kinda figured it was better to have everyone to choose from then wait to see who the first 5 taken were. Hell, the pick could still be dealt if someone decides there is a player they just can't live without and pays through the nose for it.

Tampa Bay wants to trade down in the draft.
The Bucs are said to be looking to trade their first round pick for at least a 2nd and something else.
Granted it is a late 1st rounder, but it is still a high pick overall.

Oakland is looking to improve its defense with this draft.  While management was happy with the improvements it saw in the latter half of the season, more consistency will be required this year.  Oakland is willing to consider trading its draft picks for Defensive help at almost all positions.

The Colts having two first-rounders in this years draft are again announcing that they are up for trade. Colts management is looking for two players for the picks. Players must be young and signed for a couple of years and must be players that are worthy of the two first-rounders. They have fielded many offers, but none that are appealing enough to pull the trigger on the deal. If no deal gets done then they are expected to use the picks to fill holes.

It has been reported that The Saints are interested in trading their #2 pick and a player for a higher #2 pick It has also been reported that the Saints held a private workout with QB Michael Vick and were very impressed and are interested in trading up for the #1 pick and selecting him. Its not often you can find a phenom such as Michael Vick.

There are also rumors that once again Akili Smith is available for trade and he can be had for either a player mostly interested in the following positions (LB, CB, OT, WR) or for a pick.

Pittsburgh announced that eight players are for trade.  While picks are preferred, ownership let it known that they would listen to any offer.  Players included:

WR  Mason, Derrick
 T    Roundtree, Raleigh
 T    Parker, Vaughn
DE  Carson, Leonardo
DT   Smith, Aaron
DT   Wallace, Jason
LB   Simonton, Jason
 S    White, Shabib

Falcons looking to pick up first round picks in the draft.  Sources say that the Falcons are looking to trading vets Zeier, Brunell, Paup, and Buchanan in order to gain more leverage in the draft Dec. 7.

The Titans are looking to trade the #1 overall pick in the draft, however the price is high.  The Titans are rumored to want multiple #1 picks or at least a superstar in the trade.  San Diego is rumored to be the leader right now in informal negotiations.

The Redskins are in search of picks of any sort.  While they prefer higher picks, they have let it known that they would take about anything if the deal was reasonable.

With the holdout of Darnay Scott, the Cardinals have expressed interest in trading for a draft pick to replace him with.  Management is not happy.
